He was born July 12, 1924 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada to J. Urban and Edna Bingham Allred. He married Sarah Tillotson, September 5, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was raised and educated in Logan and Canada. He graduated from Utah State University with a B.S. Degree. He worked at Sperry Univac as an electrical engineer. He lived more recently in Bountiful and Layton, Utah. He was an active member of the Layton 2nd LDS Ward. He has served as a Bishopric member, Stake clerk, High Counselor, High Priest group leader and most recently served a mission, with his wife, in Honduras and Belize. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving: wife, Layton; four sons, four daughters, Arnon T. Allred, Salt Lake City; Daren H. and David E. Allred, Layton; Loren B. Allred, Alexandria, Virginia; Ann Schulz, Layton; Mrs. James (Emily) Brown, Bountiful; Mrs. Steven (Jolene) Hoge, Paris, Idaho; Mrs. J. Brian (Charlotte) Gillespie, Woodbridge, Virginia; 22 grandchildren; also surviving are one brother, four sisters, David H. Allred, Bountiful; Kate Whetten, Provo; Ruth Dallimore, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Lucille Zenger, Salt Lake City; Eileen Bell, Bountiful; preceded in death by one daughter, Alta Gae Allred in 1970.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., Layton 2nd Ward Chapel, 2120 West Gentile. Friends may call Friday 7-9 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 No. Fairfield Rd., and at the church on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
