Elvera D Soto was the middle child of Nicanor Soto and of Rafaela Pisano, both of Mexico. Vera, as she was known, was born in Madera, Madera County, CA where she and her four sisters were raised.
Vera and her older sister Virginia Eusevia met and married the handsome Alviso boys and began raising their own families in Madera.
Vera and Carlos raised a wonderful family of five sons who provided them with "daughters" and such delightful grandchildren.

Elvera passed away October 8th with her loving family at her side. She is survived by her 5 sons Carlos Alviso Jr. of Ceres,Ca, Kenneth Alviso of San Leandro, Edward Alviso of San Jose, Frank Alviso of Vacaville and Albert Alviso of San Ramon along with 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. She was preceded in passing by her Husband Carlos in 1976. Vera as she was known by her friends and family was a true "Rosie the Riveter" working at Mare Island from 1942 until 1945. Visitation will take place Thursday October 11th at St. John's Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. The Mass will be held on Friday October 12th starting at 10:30 with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
