Ingrid Carlson

Ingrid Margaret Carlson, 92, of Columbus and formerly Port Washington, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus.

Ingrid was born Oct. 21, 1912, in Dovre Township to Christian and Hansine (Thue) Carlson.

She cared for people and was a caretaker for a lady in the Milwaukee area for more than 30 years. She moved to Port Washington in 1983 and lived there until 2001, when she moved to Columbus until her death.

Ingrid's church work and the beliefs she had in the church were the focal point of her entire life. She was a dedicated member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington. She loved to read and was extremely well read. Ingrid believed in giving and contributed for decades to numerous organizations (animal-related, such as humane society and shelters) were very important to her, even though she lived on a limited income.

Ingrid is survived by one sister, Signe Carlson of California; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Fritjov Carlson; and two sisters, Borghild Stockwicz and Gudrun Anderson.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Dovre Lutheran Cemetery in rural Chetek. Friends may call Thursday, Nov. 4, from 12-12:30 p.m. Burnham-Ours Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Chetek.
