Ahl, Rosa nee Marx (Feb. 2, 1870-Feb. 25, 1947 –wife of Peter Ahl [married Oct. 16, 1888 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alverno, Town of Manitowoc Rapids] –daughter of Peter Marx and Anna Katherine Hecker –born Town of Liberty –died from “myocardial failure –chronic myocarditis –diabetes mellitus –arteriosclerosis”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 1, Lot 2] [marriage record Manitowoc 5-418] [death record Manitowoc 40-298]

Mrs. Peter Ahl, 77, (photo) nee Rose Marx, died Monday of a heart attack at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Glaeser, of route 1, Valders.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at St. Gregory's Catholic church, St. Nazianz. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Fintan Holzknecht will officiate.
Mrs. Ahl was born in Liberty in 1877 and was married to Mr. Ahl in 1888. They live on a farm in Newton and later in Meeme, near Pigeon Lake. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1938.
Mr. Ahl died in 1944.
Survivors are seven daughters, Mrs. Anna Frey of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Fred Freiher of Spring Valley, Lillian Bertzke of Osman, Mrs. Charles Hassmer of Francis Creek, Mrs. Jospeh Fitzgerald and Mrs. Edward Sieracki of Osman and Mrs. Gerald Glaeser of Valders; three sons, Frank
of Sheboygan, Joseph of Silver Lake and John of Pigeon Lake; a brother, Jacob Marx of St. Louis, Mo.; 37 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers who will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kellenbenz funeral home, St. Nazianz. The body may be viewed after 8 p.m. Wednesday.
