From Der Nord Westen, 08 Apr. 1909:
Death in St. Nazianz on Monday of 85-year old Joseph Brummeier(sic). The deceased was born in Germany and in 1866 came from there to St. Nazianz where he has since lived. He is survived by his sorrowing widow, with whom he celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary two years ago, and 5 children. The funeral was held yesterday.

Brunmeier, Joseph (Jan. 2, 1825-April 5, 1909 –husband of Franciska Reuter [married June 9, 1856 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –parents marked as “unknown” on death record –born Austria –arrived in US via New York in Sept. of 1852 –on Nov. 7, 1883 purchased the 120 acre farm at 8831 Glen Flora Road in Section 35, Town of Eaton –on June 29, 1885 sold this 120 acre farm to his son Joseph Brunmeier and his wife Margaret Wimmer –in the 1900 census for the Town of Eaton, Joseph and Franciska are shown as living in a house in St. Nazianz –died from “softening of brains”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 18, Lot 3 –stone] [no county marriage record –marriage shown in St. Gregory Church books] [death record Manitowoc 9-33]
