To Observe Golden Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burkart of St. Nazianz will observe their golden wedding anniversary at their home Sunday in the presence of their children and families.
Frank Burkart was born in Baden, Germany, December 14, 1861(sic), and came to this country with his parents when he was five years old. After living in Milwaukee for one year, the family moved to St. Nazianz. When Mr. Burkart was twenty-five, he came to Sheboygan to live. On April 26, 1887, at Holy Name Church, he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Fritz, who had come to America in 1884. Mrs. Burkart was born in Wurttemberg, Germany, June 26, 1863.
They lived here for six years after they were married and then moved to St. Nazianz. In 1909 they purchased a farm southeast of the village, where they still reside with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Neumeyer. Twelve children were born to this union, eight of whom survive.
They are: Peter of Sumatra, Mont., Frank of Elkhart Lake, Anna, Anton and Mrs. Nic Schnettler of this city. George of Manitowoc, Louis and Mrs. Herbert Neumeyer of St. Nazianz. There are also thirty-seven grandchildren.
