Burkart and Anna Fritz –farmer –born St. Nazianz –died from “coronary thrombosis –arteriosclerosis” –“He had been in ill health for 30 years.” –from obit –“Influenza also struck in our family and only Rose, Lydia and I escaped, so we were able to do all the work while the others were sick. My parents were quite ill but my brother, George, was particularly affected as the illness caused what the doctors later diagnosed as water on the brain, resulting in him acting strangely and making us all really afraid of him. He finally had to be put in the Sanitarium near Manitowoc, where he spent the rest of his life. I remember how my mother cried when they had to send him away from home.” –from the childhood memories of Helen Burkart Schnettler) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 1, Lot 5] [death record Manitowoc 49-79]
