My parents were quite ill but my brother, George, was particularly affected as the illness caused what the doctors later diagnosed as water on the brain, resulting in him acting strangely and making us all really afraid of him. He finally had to be put in the Sanitarium near Manitowoc, where he spent the rest of his life.
