Burkart, Louis (Aug. 8, 1894-Jan. 30, 1978 –husband of Caroline Kautzer [married May 7, 1917 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Frank Burkart and Anna Fritz –born in St. Nazianz –on May 26, 1919 purchased from his brother-in-law Peter Kautzer the 120 acre farm centered at 21519 County C in Section 28, Town of Eaton –on Jan. 24, 1921 sold this 120 acre farm to his brother-in-law Joseph Kautzer and his wife Mary Stauber –on Jan. 13, 1930 purchased the house at 109 South Third Avenue in St. Nazianz –this house then served as both his residence and as a leather shop for shoes and harnesses –owned this house until selling on Nov. 1, 1946 to Miller Farms –from Aug. 26, 1943 to Nov. 5, 1962 owned the lot with house at 111 South Third Avenue in St. Nazianz –this house was used as a rental property –grocery store manager –on Nov. 1, 1946 purchased the Groh Grocery at 103 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz –Louis with his sons ran this store until selling in 1976 –after this sale, this building was turned into rental apartments –died from “coronary thrombosis”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 5, Row 2, Lot 14] [marriage record Manitowoc 14-481] [death record Manitowoc 78-488]
