United States Veteran - Loving Father and Husband! US Viet Nam VeteranLarry K. Nelson, 72, peacefully passed away in his sleep, on Sunday, September 9, 2018, while visiting relatives in San Angelo, Texas. His wife of 30 years, Sue Lynn Walker, was by his side.
Larry was born to Wayne and Elva Crawford Nelson on August 29, 1946, in Perry, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wellington High School in Wellington, Kansas, in 1964, and moved to Sweetwater, Texas, to work for Santa Fe Railroad. He enlisted in the United States Army two years later, served as a sergeant, and was honorably discharged in 1971.

Following his service, he moved to Cleburne to work as a crew caller for Santa Fe Railroad where he retired in 1995. He also volunteered for Cleburne High School athletics for 30 years, taking care of equipment, managers, and filming. He and Sue Lynn married on March 12, 1988.

Larry loved God and had a true servant's heart, doing whatever he could to serve the Lord.

In 1998, he founded Videos Now, a video production company in Cleburne.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Walter Nelson. Survivors include his wife, Sue Lynn Nelson; brother, Wesley Nelson of Cleburne; sister, Linda Rausch of Wellington; and sister, Katherine Doranski of Robson Ranch in Denton and their families. He also is survived by his children, Ken Nelson of Sweetwater, Jon Nelson of Cleburne, Jay Rux of Godley, and Jalina McBride of Cleburne; 7 grandchildren including Holly Ann of Houston whom he helped raise; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11 A.M. in the Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church, 600 S. Colonial Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76031.
