Sister Ann Kalscheuer, age 89, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Tuesday, February 4, 1997, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, 1997, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev. Samuel D. Jadin O.Praem, will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at Holy Family Cememtery (sic), Manitowoc.
The former Matilda Kalscheuer was born November 10, 1907, in Ashton, Wis., daughter of the late Henry and Anna Kalscheuer. She entered the Convent in 1925 and professed her vows in 1928. Sister Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Saint Mary College, Los Angeles, Calif., and a Masters Degree from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind. Sister Ann served as a teacher and/or principal at St. Francis, Hollandtown, SS. Peter and Paul, Kiel, St. Mary, Algoma, Sacred Heart, Oshkosh, St. Mary, Reedsville, St. Joseph, Rice Lake, St. Joseph and St. Mary, Waukesha, St. Mary, Kaukauna, St. Anthony, Neopit, Wis.; Papago Indian Reservation, Cowlic, Ariz.; St. Sylvester, Woodsfield, Ohio; St. Charles Lwanga and Holy Angels, Chicago, Ill., and Harambee Community School in the inner city of Milwaukee. Since 1994, she had been serving as a volunteer in the library at St. Mary, Clarks Mills.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a sister-in-law, Caroline Kalscheuer, Middleton, Wis.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
