Casper, Helen (Lena) nee Lackerman (Aug. 3, 1858-Jan. 15, 1924 –wife of Joseph Casper [1855-1900] –married May 15, 1877 at Brothertown, Calumet County –daughter of Andrew Lackerman and Anna Schutz-Starr –born in Charleston, Calumet County –after the death of her husband Joseph on June 7, 1900, Helen on March 13, 1901 purchased the 119.5 acre farm centered at 15712 County C in Section 28, Town of Liberty from the widower Michael Dunbar –Helen moved to this farm with her family of 10 children –Helen sold this farm on March 17, 1909 –in the 1900 census for the Town of Liberty, Joseph and Helen are shown living at 102 East Main Street in St. Nazianz with their children –in the 1905 census for the Town of Liberty, Helen is shown living on the farm in the Town of Liberty with her children Peter [age 23], John [age 21], Minnie [age 19], Edward [age 17], Mona [age 12], Robert [age 11], and Frank [age 9] –it is likely that Helen moved to St. Nazianz immediately after selling her farm in the Town of Liberty –in the 1910 census for the Town of Eaton, Helen is shown living in a house in St. Nazianz with her children Minnie [age 25], Robert [age 16], and Frank [age 14] –on Jan. 27, 1921 purchased the house at 112 South Fifth Avenue in St. Nazianz –lived here until her death in 1924 –died from “hypertension producing apoplexy –pneumonia”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 15, Lot 6 –stone] [marriage record Calumet 2-38] [death record Manitowoc 20-523]
