–after the death of his first wife, Norbert re-married to Amalia Christel [married Oct. 22, 1839 in Catholic Church at Einsidl, Bohemia]
–son of Karl Christel and Barbara Zeidler [Barbara was the daughter of Anton Zeidler and Katharina Seitzin, all from Einsidl
–Karl was a master tanner and for some time the mayor of Einsidl]
–born Einseidel[Einsidl], Bohemia
–was a burgher and master soap-maker
–left for America on May 24, 1855
–arrived in Baltimore with his second wife and 8 children on the boat Adler from Bremen, Germany on July 30, 1855
–arrived in the City of Manitowoc on August 10, 1855 and stayed there until moving to the Town of Schleswig on Oct. 27, 1859
–in Oct. of 1872, moved to Lake Superior to be with ill son John
–again returned to the Town of Schleswig in 1877
