Mrs. William (Loretta) Christel, 73, of Route 1, Valders, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 29, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christianson-Deja funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The Rev. David Christel, a son, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Christel, nee Loretta Schnettler, was born Oct. 22, 1906, at St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude Meyer Schnettler. She attended St. Gregory School. She was married to William Christel Nov. 24, 1925, at St. Nazianz. She was employed at the Salvatorian Center, New Holstein. Mrs. Christel was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Christian Mothers of St. Gregory Parish.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Father David Christel of Catholic Interparish Ministry of Chilton, Dick and Darlene of Reedsville, and Ron and Janet of St. Nazianz; four daughters and sons-in-law, LaVerne and Ted Hunter of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Lorraine and Jerome Beckle of Green Bay, Joanne and Glen Koeppen of St. Nazianz, and Carol and Dean Leschke of Osman; three sisters, Sister M. Felicitas O.S.F., of Campbellsport, Wis., Mrs. Anna Block of Sheboygan, and Mr. Alma Klingeisen of Manitowoc; 38 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a grandson.

Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, St. Nazianz, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday where a parish prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.
