Durst, Xavier Frank (Nov. 16, 1828-Oct. 5, 1916 –single –son of Joseph Durst and Katharine Binkert –younger brother of Jacob and Martin Durst –born Geisslingen, Waldshut, Baden –immigrated to the US on the boat Juventa departing from the Port of Havre, France, arriving in the Port of New York on June 19, 1854 –Xavier was the only Durst on the boat –applied for naturalization on Jan. 22, 1856 –in the 1860 census for the Town of Eaton, Xavier is shown as living in a house with his brothers Jacob and Martin –from Jan. 22, 1856 to June 17, 1861, in partnership with his older brother Jacob Durst, owned the 40 acres of the NE1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 7, Town of Liberty –in the 1905 census for the Town of Eaton, Xavier is shown as a single person living with his widowed brother Jacob Durst in the house at 105 West Court in St. Nazianz –in 1914 moved to the farm of Henry Diem Sr. [the husband of his niece Mary Anna Durst] at 14801 County X in the Town of Meeme, just east of School Hill and died there in 1916 –carpenter –died from “valvular lesion of heart –old age”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Old Section 1, Row 14, Lot 10] [death record Manitowoc 14-32]
