Kenneth graduated from Cardozo High School in 1955. He married Veronica A. Burke (Elliston) in 1961. They had one son, Sean Jay. He entered the US Air Force in April of 1963. Upon completion of basic military training, he completed basic medical service courses at Greenville AFB, Mississippi and Gunter AFB, Alabama. He was assigned to the hospital at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio as a Medical Technician. Subsequent assignments included Yokota Air Base, Japan; 56th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, USAF Hospital Tachikawa AB, Japan; assigned as the only Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technician, USAF Hospital Dyess AFB, Texas; USAF Hospital Osan AB, Korea; USAF Medical Center Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio and Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews AFB, Maryland.
Kenneth served 26 years in the US Air Force and retired as a Master Sargeant as Superintendent, Professional Education and Training at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews AFB, Maryland. His military decorations included the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Presidential Unit Citation with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, the Air force Good Conduct Medal with one silver and two oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Kenneth married Theresa Mills on November 8, 1980 His devoted wife for 31 years.
Kenneth united with Mount Ephraim Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland in 1999. He became active in various ministries, The Golden Ages, missionaries, the chorus, where he served as president and the men's ministry. He also taught vacation bible school.
Having an infectious personality, he gladly extended a hand when he saw a need. Kenneth was young at heart. He had an affinity for youth. He was happy when he saw them happy. He wanted them to excel.
He was great father. He always made himself available for his sons and he showed love to them 24/7.
Kenneth leaves to cherish memories of his devoted wife, Theresa, two sons, Sean J. Wells (Maia) and Mark Brown; Aunt Mazie McCain (Vernard); Sister-in-laws Barbara Summerow and Bernice Thomas (Kenny);Brother-in-law Jimmy Mills (Florine); God daughter Regina Daniels (Michael); God son Josiah Austin; Cousins Paige Snoddy, Sadie Christen and Sandra Garner. Close friends William Jones and Juandy Swinson along with a host of other relatives and friends.
