Frank, Gerhard (Sept. 23, 1856-Sept. 19, 1923 –husband of Mary Mallman [married July 17, 1883 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Jacob and Gertrude Frank –born Town of Eaton –farmer in Town of Eaton –on Oct. 5, 1900 purchased from his widowed mother-in-law Mary Mallman the 40 acre farm on the NE corner of the intersection of County C and Greendale Road in Section 24, Town of Eaton –owned this farm until selling on April 28, 1919 –in 1919 Gerhard retired from the farm and moved to St. Nazianz –on June 13, 1919 purchased the house at 202 East Main Street in St. Nazianz from his widowed mother-in-law Anna Mallman –lived in this house until his death in 1923 –his widow Mary lived here until her death on Sept. 8, 1944 –from Feb. 5, 1896 to Dec. 4, 1918 owned 5 acres of cedar swamp in the NE1/4 of Section 29, Town of Eaton –died from “apoplexy –hypertension”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 3, Row 1, Lot 5 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 5-134] [death record Manitowoc 20-340]

ST. NAZIANZ -- Gerhard Frank passed away at his home in this village on Wednesday of last week, death being due to apoplexy.

Deceased was 67 years old, and resided here for about five years since he retired from the farm.
He leaves his widow and four children; one child died years ago.

The surviving children are; Elizabeth Calahan, Anna Cheney and Alvin of Chicago and Dorothy Lang of Valders.

The funeral was held on Saturday morning, services being held in St. Gregory’s church, Rev. Deibele officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
