Gellings, Joseph (Feb. 26, 1863-June 1, 1898 –single –son of Gerhard Gellings and Theodora Breuns –brother to Gertrude and Peter Gellings –born Milwaukee County [deaf and dumb –from 1880 census] –farmer in Town of Eaton –on Jan. 31, 1896, in partnership with his brother Peter, purchased from his parents the 120 acre farm centered at 8526 Greendale Road in Section 26, Town of Eaton –a part of these 120 acres were 40 acres of swampland in the SW1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 8, Town of Eaton –was part owner of this farm until his death in 1898 –deaf and dumb [from 1880 census] –“died suddenly of heart disease” –“Sudden death overtook Town Eaton resident Joseph Gelling. He attended the wedding party of Aug. Grumeyer and Anna Casper and during the dance fell ill. He was taken to the residence of Dr. O’Brien but before he could examine the patient, the latter fell dead on the floor with a heart attack.
