Groh, Frederick Joseph (July 9, 1914-April 5, 1988 –husband of Alice Richart [married Oct. 11, 1947 at Holy Name Catholic Church, City of Sheboygan] –son of Andrew Groh and Emily Rauch –born Town of Eaton –employed by Lake to Lake Dairy as a milk hauler for 28 years –also farmed in the Town of Eaton –on June 5, 1947 purchased from his widowed mother the 219 acre farm centered at 22520 Groh Road in Section 17, Town of Eaton –on Oct. 8, 1956 sold 59 acres of swampland in the fractional W1/2 of the SW1/4 of Section 7, Town of Eaton to the Wisconsin Conservation Commission –this land then became part of the Killsnake State Wildlife Area –these 59 acres had been a part of the farm at 22520 Groh Road since 1889 –on Feb. 1, 1974 sold the 40 acres of the SW1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 16, Town of Eaton to Ronald Hoerth –this sale reduced the Groh farm to 120 acres –owned this farm until his death in 1988 –after his death this farm was sold on Nov. 28, 1988 to Emil Duchow –died from “myocardial infarction, acute –cardiac arrest and cardio vascular accident, 2 years ago”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 5, Row 9, Lot 30] [marriage record Sheboygan 40-380] [death record Manitowoc 91-14]

FREDERICK J. GROH, age 73, of rural Chilton, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 5, at Calumet Medical Center.
Services were held Thursday, at St Gregory's Catholic Church of St. Nazianz. Rev. Cletus LaMere officiated, with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born July 9, 1914 in Manitowoc County, the Town of Eaton, son of the late Andrew and Emily Rauch Groh. He attended St. Gregory School. He was formerly employed by Lake to Lake Dairy, as a milk hauler, for 28 years. He also farmed in the Town of Eaton. He married Alice Richart, October 11, 1947 at Holy Name Catholic Church, in Sheboygan. He played baseball for many years in the Manitowoc and Calumet County baseball leagues.
He was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Knights, serving as treasurer, for 31 years. Survivors include his wife, Alice; one son, six daughters and four sons-in-law, three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Beyer, of Milwaukee; Mrs. Herbert (Rita) Roech, of New Holstein; Mrs. John (Mildred) Riederer, of rural Kiel; 14 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son, Joseph; four brothers and three sisters.
