Grotzinger, Eugidius Albee (Sept. 1, 1815-Feb. 10, 1887 –husband of Katherine Fligetter –son of Joseph Grotzinger and Maria Schlosser –deaf and dumb, from 1880 census –born at Rumaschin, Alsace Loraine, France –immigrated to the US with his wife and family on the boat William Tell, arriving in New York City on Oct. 25, 1855 –farmer in Town of Eaton ] –on Nov 2, 1865 purchased from Father Ambrose Oschwald the 20 acres of the E1/2 of the SE1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 23, Town of Eaton –on Sept. 11, 1867 purchased an additional 5 acres in the extreme northeast corner of the NE1/4 of Section 26, Town of Eaton and created a farmstead –on Jan. 8, 1887 sold this now 45 acre farm to Anton Sprang –this was just before Eugidius’s death in 1887 –this farm then became part of the Anton Sprang farm centered at 18703 County C in Section 26 –whatever farmstead existed on this land was then razed) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 8, Lot 24 –stone] [death record Manitowoc 4-6]
