Gutman, William Ambrose (Aug. 19, 1892-Nov. 24, 1976 –husband of Anna Breu [married Feb. 19, 1917 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of John Gutman and Christine Pfefferle –after his marriage William moved to Montana –he returned to St. Nazianz in September of 1938 –from 1941 to 1947 rented the former Anton Schwoerer house at 407 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz –on March 15, 1941 purchased the vacant lot at 306 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz and created the Gutman Oil and Lumber Company –ran this establishment until selling to his son Jerome Gutman on Dec. 31, 1960 –on July 14, 1948 purchased the vacant lot at 207 Church Street in St. Nazianz and had a house built –lived in this house until his death in 1976 –his widow Anna lived here until her death in 1980 –on May 29, 1946 purchased from his widowed mother-in-law Frances Breu the 160 acre woodlot in the SW1/4 of Section 27, Town of Eaton and used this woodlot as a lumber supply for his lumber company in St. Nazianz –after the woods were cut, William sold this land on Sept 2, 1949 to Alfred and Rita Binversie –on Aug. 7, 1945 purchased the double lot with house at 305 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz from Mary Lax and created the Gutman Lumber Yard on this property –on Feb. 2, 1949 sold the house on these lots to Martin Hoban –from July 15, 1939 to May 26, 1941 owned the lot with house at 113 South Second Avenue in St. Nazianz –William used this house as a rental property –died from "coronary thrombosis") –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 8, Lot 3] [marriage record Manitowoc 13-12] [death record Manitowoc 77-251]

William A. Gutman, 84, of 207 Church St., St. Nazianz, died Wednesday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The Rev. Cyril Dickrell, S.D.S. Will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Gutman was born Aug, 19, 1892, at St. Nazianz, son of the late John and Christine Pfefferle Gutman. He attended St. Gregory School and married Anna Breu Feb. 19, 1917, at St. Nazianz. He was self employed at Gutman Oil and Lumber Co. from 1939 until his retirement in 1961.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Jerome, of St. Nazianz; a daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Alice) Cumming, of Hamilton, Mont., a sister, Mrs. Minnie Dietrich, of St. Nazianz, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, St. Nazianz, from 5 to 9 o'clock this Friday evening, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock.
