Sister Marquerite Kingston, age 99, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Sunday, December 12, 1999, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 1999, at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Marie Kingston on March 27, 1900, in Marinette, Wis., daughter of the late William and Mary Louise Poquette Kingston. Sister Marquerite earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wis. She entered the Convent in 1922 and professed her vows in 1925. Sister Marguerite served as an elementary teacher at St. Boniface, Manitowoc, St. Mary, Rhinelander, St. Mary Kaukauna, Wis., St. Anne, Escanaba, St. Ambrose, Ironwood, St. Francis Xavier, Petoskey, St. Ann, Menominee, St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, Mich. and Immaculate Conception, Yuma, Ariz. After retiring from the teaching profession, she performed various tasks at the Motherhouse and Ozanam Home, New Berlin, Wis. Since 1983, she had been a resident of St. Rita Health Facilities at the Motherhouse. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, (TONIGHT). A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday (TONIGHT) at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
