Hecker, Jacob (March 23, 1823-April 3, 1896 –husband of Katharine Heinzen [married in 1846] –born Munich, Bavaria –arrived in the US via New York in July of 1856 –farmer and mason –also repaired shoes and made wicker baskets –on Jan. 26, 1861 purchased the 40 acres of the SE1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 30, Town of Liberty and created a farmstead at 16404 Christel Road –on Feb. 28, 1868 sold this farmstead to John Schnettler and his wife Regina Lubeley –on Dec. 18, 1867 purchased the 160 acre farm centered at 8319 Pigeon Lake Road in Section 28, in Town of Liberty from John Crowe –on June 18, 1870 sold the 40 acres of this farm in Section 33 to Charles Goetz –on July 3, 1886, Jacob sold the 80 acres with farmstead at 8319 Pigeon Lake Road to William Crowe –on July 6, 1886, Jacob sold the last 40 of this farm, the 40 acres of the NE1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 32, Town of Liberty, to Edward Dunbar –after this sale, Jacob moved to St. Nazianz –when in St. Nazianz, Jacob repaired shoes, made wicker baskets, and worked as a mason) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 12, Lot 20 –stone] [death record Manitowoc 4-348]
