Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 1999, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Sirois and Rev. Cletus LeMere. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
She was born February 7, 1915, in Osman, Wis., daughter of the late Charles and Lena Fox Schwartz. Verona was employed at Tecumseh Manufacturing, New Holstein, for 22 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz and the Christian Mothers of St. Gregory.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Diane Hickmann, Vernon (Butch) and Donna Hickmann, St. Nazianz; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Ethel Bubolz, Reedsville, Margie and Tom Ryan, St. Nazianz, Judy and Danny Gosz, Elaine and William Zut, all of Valders; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Alice Schwartz, New Holstein; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Isabel Sukowaty, Utah, Magdalene and George Hartman, New Holstein; 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Harvey Maurer; a son-in-law, Les Bubolz and a brother-in-law, Erhard Sukowaty.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz, from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Verona was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family.
