Hildebrand, Ignatz –Oschwald Brother (1820-Sept. 6, 1884 –husband of Christina Grohne, who died in 1867 in Bohemia –immigrated to the US on the boat Marco Polo departing from the Port of Bremen, Germany, arriving in the Port of New York on Dec. 16, 1867 as a widower in company of his children Carl and Theresia –applied for naturalization on May 30, 1877 –he settled a few years in Washington County before moving to St. Nazianz –moved to St. Nazianz in the early 1870’s, becoming an Oschwald Brother and warden of the convent until his death –in the 1880 census for the Town of Eaton, Ignatz is shown as an Oschwald Brother living at Loretto Monastery) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 6, Lot 6 –no stone –in 2011 the St. Nazianz Area Historical Society placed a marker on this grave] [death record Manitowoc 3-126]
