Holzer, George (June 25, 1818-Aug. 28, 1903 –husband of Barbara Singer [married Nov. 22, 1853 in Town of Manitowoc Rapids] –son of George Holzer and Theresia –born in Bavaria –farmer in Town of Eaton –on Dec. 4, 1857, in partnership with Joseph Breu, purchased the 160 acres of the NE1/4 and the 40 acres of the NE1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 33, Town of Eaton –on Sept. 12, 1859 George Holzer and Joseph Breu divided these 200 acres into two 100 acre farms –on Feb. 4, 1860 George Holzer sold an additional 20 acres to Joseph Breu, thus reducing his farm to 80 acres –from Sept. 28, 1864 to Oct. 22, 1866 owned the 80 acres of the E1/2 of the NE1/4 of Section 28, Town of Eaton –on Dec. 3, 1866 George purchased the 80 acres of the W1/2 of the SE1/4 of Section 33, Town of Eaton and had a farmstead created at 9035 Binversie Lane –his farm was now 160 acres –on June 11, 1869 sold the lower 40 acres of the 80 purchased in 1866, thus reducing his farm to 120 acres –on May 22, 1885 (shortly after the death of his wife Barbara on June 26, 1884), George sold this 120 acre farm centered at 9035 Binversie Lane to his son Joseph Holzer –died from “general debility”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 6, Lot 10 –stone] [no county marriage record] [no county death record]
