HECTOR KAUTZER, 61, operator of a tavern and filling station at St. Nazianz, died at his home early today after a linger illness. Funeral services will be held at St. Nazianz at 10 a.m., Friday at the Christianson Funeral Home and at 10:15 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
The Rev. Denis Cooney, pastor, will be the celebrant of the requiem Mass and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. Members of the Holy Name Society will hold a vigil there at 8 p.m. Thursday.
A native of Marshfield, Mr. Kautzer was born Sept. 12, 1900, a son of Edward and Josephine Kotlow Kautzer, and married the former Ida Fessler on April 12, 1926, at St. Nazianz. Mr. Kautzer was in the real estate and insurance business before going into the tavern and filling station business at Highway 151 and County Trunk A.
Survivors are his widow; a son, James of rural Valders; a daughter, Mrs. Delores Weske of Milwaukee; three brothers, Ervin of Sheboygan, Reuben of rural Manitowoc, Edward of rural Kiel; four sisters. Mrs. Lila Valdora, Mrs. Hazel Halfenstein, Mrs. Pearl Mowery and Mrs. Myrtle Nelsen, all of California, and seven grandchildren.
