James Lenahan died at his home in this city on Thursday evening, Nov. 3rd and was buried Monday morning Nov. 7th, from the Holy Rosary church, Revs. Hannon and Weisar officiating. After the Requiem High mass burial was made in St. Paul's cemetery in Mineral Point, Father O'Reilly attending.
Deceased was born in Cuonty Leitrun, Ireland, Nov. 10, 1826. When sixteen years of age he came to this country to his brothers, Patrick and Henry, who were then in New York City. During the same year (1842) they came to Mineral Point where they engaged in the mercantile business. Mr. Lenahan remained in Mineral Point until the year of forty five, when he was appointed as overseer in the O'Doud and Jones mines at New Diggings, in which occupation he remained for several years, when he purchased a farm in Kendall where he lived until twelve years ago, when he came to this city where he has since resided. His wife and three daughters survive him, also two sisters. He was a kind husband and father and a good man.
