Christena Armstrong Abbey was born in Pennsylvania in 1836. She married Hiram J Abbey and was the mother of several of their children. She was 42 when she died February 17th 1877 in El Paso county Colorado possibly from complications of childbirth or illness. A daughter died the next year in May and her name was Christena as well. They had moved to West Creek formerly Pemberton possibly in search of Gold as some 5000 people reportadly did around that time in the late 1860's to early 1870's. They had previously lived in Minnesota and Nebraska. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso County Colorado.
