The physician said that Diem had inhaled the fumes Monday and Tuesday of last week but did not need medical attention until Thursday, when he became critically ill, and was brought to the hospital. Coroner Theodore Teitgen announced that a postmortem would be held. The coroner said Diem was helping in cleaning fox pelts at the farm, and the cleaning fluid was mixed with water and sawdust and placed in a revolving drum with the pelts to clean off the greasy substances. It was while reaching into this drum to take out the hides, that Diem inhaled the fumes.” –from obit –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 1, Lot 28] [death record Manitowoc 38-113]
