ARTHUR MURPHY, 87, of Route 4, Chilton, died Thursday at home following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wieting Funeral Home and 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Chilton. The Rev. David Christen will officiate and burial will be in St. Gregory Cemetery, St. Nazianz.

Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 7, 1881, in the Town of Eaton, son of the late James and Bertha Sy Murphy. He married Inez McCarthy July 17, 1915, in Clarks Mills. She preceded him in death in July of 1948.

Mr. Murphy was employed as county agent in Shawano from 1918 to 1928 and then farmed in the Town of Eaton. He served as president of Lake to Lake Cooperative for 18 years, retiring in 1966. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Chilton, and Knights
of Columbus.

Survivors include two sons, James and John of Route 4, Chilton; three daughters, Mrs. Scott (Rita) Runnel of Colorrus, Mrs. Florian (Loretta) Lewandowski of Route 4, Chilton, and Mrs. Donald (Patricia) Meyer of Vista, Calif., 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Two brothers, a sister and a grandson preceded him in death.

Friends may call in Wieting Funeral Home, Chilton, after 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the time of service. A parish vigil service will be Sunday evening at 8 p.m.
