Noworatzky, Anna nee Elster Schnurr (1818-July 30, 1880 –wife of Bernard Schurr (who died in Bavaria) –after the death of Bernard, Anna re-married to Franz Noworatzky –daughter of Franz and Magdalena Elster –born Bohemia –second husband, Franz Noworatzky, arrived in Wisconsin in 1854 –it was not until late 1858 that Anna and her children joined Franz in St. Nazianz –immigrated to the US on the boat Elise and Mathilde departing from the Port of Bremen, Germany, arriving in the Port of New York on Dec. 6, 1858 in the company of Magdalina and Anton Schnurr [children from her first marriage] and Franz and Joseph Noworatzky [children from her second marriage] –there was also an Adolph Schnurr, who was but 6 months old –in the 1880 census for the Town of Eaton, Anna is shown as a widow living with her son Frank and his family in the Lake View saloon and boarding house at 215 Church Street in St. Nazianz –in the census Anna is claimed to suffer from “dropsy” –little more than a month after this census, Anna died –died from “dropsy”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 4, Lot 16 –no stone –in 2019 the St. Nazianz Area Historical Society placed a marker on this grave] [death record Manitowoc 3-9]
