Noworatzky, Joseph (Sept. 2, 1854-Nov. 23, 1941 –husband of Anna Maria Grotzinger [married Jan. 20, 1885 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Frank Noworatzky and Anna Elster –born Hochofen, Bohemia –immigrated to the US on the boat Elise and Mathilde departing from the Port of Bremen, Germany, arriving in the Port of New York on Dec. 6, 1858 in company of his mother, his step-siblings Magdalena and Anton Schnurr, plus his brother Franz Noworatzky –after the death of his wife Anna Marie on Jan. 20, 1896 and then the moving away of his children, Joseph spent the last 34 years of his life at the St. Nazianz Salvatorian Seminary –did farm work –in the 1900 census for the Town of Eaton, Joseph is shown as living with the Oschwald Brothers –from Oct. 2, 1879 to March 21, 1881 owned the 40 acres of the NW1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 27, Town of Eaton –for the brief period of Feb. 21 to Oct. 13, 1882 owned the former Ignatz Kautzer farm that was located in the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 27, Town of Eaton –from March 17, 1885 to April 23, 1887 owned the 40 acres of the SW1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 22, Town of Eaton –from July 6, 1893 to Oct. 17, 1907 owned the 80 acre farm at 16833 Christel Road in Section 30, Town of Liberty –from Feb. 23, 1894 to Feb. 5, 1896 owned 5 acres of cedar swamp in the E1/2 of the NE1/4 of Section 29, Town of Eaton –died from “chronic myocarditis –senility”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 10, Lot 22 –stone][marriage record Manitowoc 5-233] [death record Manitowoc 34-559]
