Obituary: Haught, Howard E. 89, of North St. Rt. 2, New Martinsville, formerly of Burchfield , WV, died Monday, April 4, 1994, at the New Martinsville Health Care Center. He was born June 21, 1904, in Burchfield, WV, son of the late James and Mary Sole Haught. He was a retired teacher, and principal, with over 43 years of service in both Wetzel and Harrison counties. He was a member of the Proctor Christian Church, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and the Senior Citizens Band. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth B. Gallagher Haught; his second wife, Mary J. White Haught; a son, Howard T. Haught; a daughter, Mary Margaret Casey; five brothers; six sisters, [grandsons] Howard T. Haught and Jeffrey E. White. Surviving are his wife, Bessie Erlewine Haught; one daughter Delores White of Holiday, FL; one sister, Etta Beckley of Paden City; one grandson, Harry T. Haught of Bridgeport, WV; four granddaughters, Melanie Plants of Cross Lanes, WV, Debra Pottorff of Tallahassee, FL, Kerina Langheir of Palm Harbor, FL, and Dawn Haught of Charleston, SC; 11 grandchildren.
