Guilford K. Berge, 73, of Valders, died Saturday morning at Appleton Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Intern Donald Brugamyer will officiate and burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.
Mr. Berge was born May 13, 1900, at Valders, son of the late Otto and Anna Larson Berge. He married Irene Christianson August 24, 1922, at Valders. He served on the Manitowoc County Baord for 24 years, was chairman of the Manitowoc County Board for eight years, and president of the Village of Valders for eight years. Mr. Berge held several offices with Faith Lutheran Church and was a funeral director in Valders for 35 years. He also was a director of Valders State Bank and the Valders Telephone Co.
