Venerable Sister M. Eleanor Dies Friday Morning
St. Nazianz – Venerable Sister M. Eleanor, a member of the Sisterhood of the Divine Savior, died suddenly at 4:30, Friday morning, June 11, at St. Mary's Convent in St. Nazianz. She was born in Baden, Germany, Sept. 19, 1869, and entered the convent of that sisterhood at Rome. Her novitiate was spent in Devole, Italy, where she took her first vows shortly before coming to this
county in April, 1903.
After a short time spent at the Motherhouse of the Society, in Milwaukee, she was assigned to assist other member of her Society at St. Mary's Convent in
St. Nazianz. The remaining years of her life were spent in assisting with the work in the kitchens both at the seminary and at St. Mary's Convent. During all of the last seventeen years she made her home at the convent.
Funeral services will be held at the Sacred Heart Chapel in St. Mary's Convent, Monday morning, June 14th, with a solemn requiem mass at 9 o'clock and interment will be in St. Gregory's parish cemetery.
