Funeral Services Held Wednesday
St. Nazianz. Funeral services for Peter Wilbersheid of Niles, who died suddenly Sunday, were held at 9:30 a. m. Wednesday at St. Gregory's church here. The Rev. Raymond Meyer officiated.
Mr. Wilbersheid, who was 74 years of age, suffered a cerebral hemmorhage Sunday morning.
Survivors are his wife and four sons, Ben at Niles, Peter, Sheboygan, Matt of Kansas and Jack Wilbersheid of Racine and a daughter Mrs. Peter Voigt of Chilton. There are also 18 grandchildren.

Endries [married Feb. 19, 1884 at St. Gregory] –after the death of Maria Endries in 1887, re-married to Anna Marie Thome [married Sept. 4, 1888 at St. Gregory] –son of Jacob Wiberscheid and Mary Waldorf [Jacob was born Oct. 15, 1818 in Ulmen, Germany and died Sept. 15, 1887 in Charlesburg, Calumet County –he married Anna Maria Waldorf on Oct. 31, 1848 in Ulmen, Germany –Anna Marie was the daughter of Lambert Waldorf an Maria Schneider –she was born March 14, 1822 in Ulmen, Germany and died March 9, 1883 in Charlesburg, Calumet County] –blacksmith –"Mr. Wilberscheid came to Niles 49 years ago [1883] when that village aspired to bigger things. When he purchased the blacksmith shop from Matt Wollersheim back in 1883, Niles consisted of a general store, saw mill, cheese factory and tavern. When the logging business fell off in 1909 business slackened and in 1918 the saw mill was torn down and other business dropped off in Niles. All that was left of Niles was the blacksmith shop and Peter Wilberscheid." –from obit. –born in Ulmen, District of Koblenz, Germany -immigrated to the US with parents in 1867, arriving in New York City on the steamer Union on May 6, 1867 –parents settled in Calumet County, where Peter learned the blacksmith trade in Charlesburg –from 1883 to 1917, operated a blacksmith shop in Niles, Town of Eaton –in 1917, purchased a farm in Town of Eaton –died from "probably apopolexy –arteriosclerosis and debility") – 2-13-20
