Proell, John (Dec. 6, 1814-April 22, 1889 –husband of Mary Anna Andresca –son of Mathias Proell and Mary Ilk –born Bohemia –immigrated to the US on the boat Saxonia departing from the Port of Hamburg, Germany, arriving in the Port of New York on Aug. 18, 1858 in company of his son John Proell, Jr. –applied for naturalization on Oct. 18, 1858 –farmer in Town of Eaton –on Oct. 22, 1858 purchased from Fr. Ambrose Oschwald 120 acres in the NW1/4 of Section 24, Town of Eaton and created a farmstead at 18304 Baer Road –on June 1, 1865 purchased the remaining 40 acres of the NW1/4 of Section 24 –on May 9, 1871 purchased the 40 acres of the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 28, Town of Eaton –on Feb. 13, 1884, John sold his 160 acre farm at 18304 Baer Road (plus the 40 acre in the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 28, Town of Eaton) to his son Frank Proell but continued living on this farm until his death in 1889) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 6, Lot 2 –stone] [death record Manitowoc 3-347]
