Profatz, Fredolin (Sept. 20, 1841-Jan. 13, 1925 –husband of Stephania Fessler [married Oct. 5, 1869 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –father is not mentioned on death record, while mother is Marie Anna Hettich –born Urach, Baden –immigrated to the US on the boat New York, departing from the Port of Havre, France, arriving in the Port of New York on Nov. 21,1854 in company of his widowed mother and elder brother Joseph –farmer in Towns of Liberty/Meeme –on July 5, 1876 purchased 30 acres from the Roman Catholic Religious Association and created a farmstead at 16229 County Highway F in Section 6, Town of Meeme –on Oct. 25, 1916 sold this now 50 acre farm to his son-in-law Otto Zorn and his wife Anna Profatz –in 1916 retired from the farm and moved to St. Nazianz –on Sept. 1, 1916 purchased the house at 106 West Birch Street in St. Nazianz –Stephania lived in this house until her death in 1920 –Fredolin lived here at least until selling on Feb. 10, 1921 –died from “myocarditis –senility”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 6, Lot 11 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 4-41] [death record Manitowoc 21-399]

FREDELIN PROFATZ died Tuesday, January 13, at the home of his grandchild, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bushman. Death was due to heart trouble and followed an illness of more than a year. The funeral was held here Friday morning at 9:30 with services at St. Gregory's Catholic church, the Rev. Deibele officiating.

Mr. Profatz was born September 20, 1841 and was past eighty three years of age. He came to this country from Germany as a boy with the Rev. Oswald and lived on a farm until seven years ago when he moved to the village. He was married October 4, 1869 to Stephania Fessler who preceded him in death five years ago.

Three children were born to the couple but only one survives the father. Three grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Profatz was a member of the Catholic Knights and members of the order attended the funeral in a body.
