Simon, Louis W. (May 17, 1879-July 6, 1906 –husband of Katherine Christel [married Jan. 15, 1901 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Hubert Simon and Mary Hoffmann –farmer –born Town of Meeme –died from “perforation of bowls –kick from horse –septic peritonitis, 36 hours” –“A bad accident occurred here in which Louis Simon, a 28-year old father of 3 small children, was kicked by a horse on July 4th. The doctor elected to send him to Sheboygan for an operation. During the journey he weakened so that the Dr. chose to delay the operation, and Friday night he died there of his wounds. The body was carried to his parent’s home in Schonberg. A bad accident occurred here in which LOUIS SIMON, 28-year old father of 3 small children, was kicked by a horse on July 4th. The doctor elected to send him to Sheboygan for an operation. During the journey he weakened so
that the Dr. chose to delay the operation, and Friday night he died there of his wounds. The body was carried to his parent's home in Schulberg. On Sunday he was brought to his home in St. Nazianz and buried Monday in a heavily attended funeral from St. Gregory Church.
