Lynn was born in Lansing, Michigan, and he served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corps before graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in geology. He worked for the United States Customs Service, serving in Detroit, Anchorage, Alaska, and Seattle, Wash. In October 1992, he returned to Michigan and made his home in Traverse City where he loved the water and sailing his boat on Grand Traverse Bay. He died at home. Survivors include his mother, Reatha Trentham of Traverse City; his wife of 36 years, Judy, of Traverse City; daughters, Amy Trentham-Dietz of Madison, Wis., and Gwen Trentham of Kirkland, Wash.; five beautiful grandchildren, Raymond, Bradley, Kayleigh, Alyson and Gavin; sisters, Gail Hoisington of Traverse City and June Riggle of Oakwood, Ga.; and a brother, Gene Trentham of Onekama. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Trentham.
