Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, 1996, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Jeffrey Vanden Heuvel, a relative of Sister Noreen's with internment in Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
The former Myrtle Macrorie was born July 23, 1899, in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Howard and Helen Hartzheim Macrorie. She entered the convent in 1918 and professed her final vows in 1928. Sister Noreen earned a Bachelor Degree and a Masters Degree from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb. Sister served the community as an Elementary Teacher at St. John, Antigo, Wis.; Holy Family, Lindsay, Neb.; and taught high school at St. Ambrose, Ironwood, Mich., St. Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Mich.; Guardian Angels, West Point, and Holy Family , Lindsay, Neb.; St. Benedict, Cambridge, St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio; Sacred Heart, Ayrshire, Iowa; St. Willibrord, Chicago, Ill.; St. Andrew, Potosi, and Holy Family Academy, Manitowoc. She also served as a tutor at St. Theresa, Kekaha, Hawaii, and did clerical work at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, and at the Ozanam Home, New Berlin, Wis. Since 1985 Sister Noreen has been residing at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sylvester and Margaret Macrorie, Kansas City, Mo., Leonard and Helen Macrorie, Janesville; neices, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 1996, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
