Joe Lake Collins, 61, died peacefully on Oct. 9, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center.
Joe was born in Augusta, Ga. on Feb. 22, 1951. He was the eldest son of George Elwyn Collins Sr. and the late Margaret Chapman Collins.
He is survived his daughter, Meredith Collins McCorkle and husband, Andy; granddaughter, Rori McCorkle; father, George E. Collins, Sr.; brother, George E. "Buddy" Collins, Jr. and wife, Beth, nephew, Josh Collins, his wife Melissa and son, Banks Collins, niece, Courtney Collins Lee, her husband Clark and son Lake Lee, and along with an extended family and host of many friends.
