TEMECULA -- On September 29, 2012, a very loving, brave and honorable Ronald Charles Perry, lost his long battle with brain cancer. True to his wishes, his ashes will be scattered at sea aboard the USS Ronald A. Reagan. Born on November 27, 1942 in Oakland, Calif., to Wayne W. Perry and Audrey M. Perry, now deceased; his family soon moved to Long Beach, Calif. After graduating from Millikan High School, he enrolled at Long Beach State where he was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was still so very close to so many of the fraternity brothers and their wives after 48 years; many visited him while he was ill, from UCLA to Temecula, Murrieta, they were always there. Also many of his Masonic Brothers followed him with visits and helped at home for the short time he was able to be there between treatments. Ron was involved in many businesses over the years; however, his greatest love was flying. After graduating from college, he joined the Navy and became a Fighter Pilot flying the F-4 Phantom; he also heard from many of his flying companions from those years in the Navy. Ron's friends always remained his friends. Most recently, he was involved with the development of the Truax Building in Old Town Temecula with Truax Development. He moved to Temecula in 1972 and counted himself one of many locals who helped move Temecula forward into the great City it is today. He has been a member of numerous local organizations and committees throughout his forty years as a resident; including the Chamber of Commerce, City of Temecula Public Safety Committee, the original Balloon and Wine Festival Board, Sister City Association, Friends of French Valley Airport and served as Master for the Temecula-Catalina Island Masonic Lodge five times. Ron is survived by his wife of 23 years, Donna Spradlin Perry; his sister, Judy Bowman; and her husband, Bill of Camarillo; sister-in-law, Teresa Spradlin; nieces, Laurie Stelzer, Kathy Hughes, Rebekah Spradlin; nephew, Justin Mund; and predeceased by brother-in-law, Alan Spradlin. A "Celebration of Ron Perry's Life" and a Masonic Funeral will be held on November 3rd at 2 p.m., at the Morgan Hill Clubhouse, 44994 Frogs Leap Street, Temecula, CA 92592.
