Clinton Langley King, 83, of 201 Jessup Street, Elizabeth City, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at the Albemarle Hospital. Born in Gates County, he was the son of the late William Henry King Jr., and Mae Goodwin King and the widower of Alyda Davis King. He was a member of First Christian Church, retired from the Ford Motor Company, and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He is survived by a brother, Bobby King and wife, Lyla M. King, of Manassas, Va.; six nieces and nephews, Peggy Butt Richardson of Chesapeake, Va., Tony King of Greenville, Chris King of Camden, Tracey King Chesson of Elizabeth City, Terrie King Baxter of Frisco, Texas, and Laurie King Alfred of Powhatan, Va.; and several great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Twiford's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Perry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence of his niece, Tracey Chesson, 1811 Fearing Avenue, Elizabeth City.
