Phyllis (or "Phillie") was a school teacher. She never married. After she retired, she recorded hundreds of movies in her Lakeside, CA, home, often from three or more TVs running simultaneously. At holidays she would send children's movies to her sisters' grandchildren. She loved adopting shelter animals that nobody else would take, and often had three or four dogs at a time. When one would die, she would bury it in her back garden near the citrus and avocado trees, and create a cement stepping stone over its grave. Then she would go to the shelter again to save another animal.
