Mr. Mallette passed away on October 16, 2012 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg. Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home.
Mr. Mallette is survived by three daughters; Barbara Kirby of Bonita Springs, FL, Ellen Mallette of Ogdensburg, NY, and Jane Erwin and her husband Terry of Ogdensburg, NY. He is survived by his grandchildren; Pam Keohane and her husband David of Maryland, Todd Kirby and his wife Tina of North Carolina, Ellen Romano and her husband Michael of Florida, Troy Thomas and his companion Dawn Hutchcroft of Ogdensburg, NY and Amanda Kahrs of Waddington, NY.
His brother-in-law, Francis Mahlon Lobdell, and 10 great-grandchildren also survive him.
He is predeceased by his wife Martha Lobdell-Mallette in June of 2012 and brothers and sisters; Hank Mallette, Leonard Mallette and Elanor Wing.
Mr. Mallette was born on October 21, 1918 in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Henry and Lena Denny Mallette. He attended in school in Ogdensburg, NY and then went on to serve in the U.S. Army from April 25, 1944 to April 14, 1946.
Arthur married his wife, Martha Lobdell-Mallette, on May 27, 1946 at Notre Dame Church by Monsignor A.D. Charbonneau.
After leaving the Army he then was employed as a millwright at Alcoa Aluminum Company of America for 41 years. Mr. Mallette retired in March of 1981.
Arthur was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, and the VFW American Legion in Ogdensburg. Mr. Mallette was also an honorary member of the Cranberry Lake Hunting Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and family and friends. Donations can be made in his memory to the Notre Dame Heritage Fund.
