Doris Jean Tarkington, 72, of Kerens passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at her residence in Kerens.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Paschal Funeral Home and will reconvene Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Prairie Point Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Tommy Carson officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie Point Cemetery.
Members of the Wortham Police Department will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Tarkington was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Kerens. She was a sewing machine operator at both Hagger and Marilyn Belts and Bags before settling into the role of housewife and Mom.
Mrs. Tarkington is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elsie Crook; her sister, Nadine Johnson; and her husband of 53 years, Ross Tarkington.
She is survived by hers sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Cindy Tarkington of Dallas and Dale and Suzanne Tarkington of Kerens.
