Son of John and Sarah (Boylston) Stringfield.

Served under Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812.

Married Sarah King Williams (daughter of William WIlliams and Sarah Goodson King Williams) on Oct. 10, 1826 in Jefferson County, TN.

Later married Mary Hill Burris Butler Cockrell of Lawrence Co., AL (10 Dec 1843).

Rev. Stringfield was a Methodist minister and educator.

Rev. and Mrs. Stringfield donated land for Strawberry Plains College
and for the railroad depot in Strawberry, Plains, TN.
