parent to Benedict, Adam and Mary∼Mrs. Eleanor, Wucherpfennig, 80, of Colby, died early Friday morning in St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where she had been a patient for some time. Services were held Sunday, July 28 at 2 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Pankow officiated at the service. Mrs. Prien was organist as Dr. Wayne Gaulke sang. Interment was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Galen Fitzel, Mannon Gustafson and Gerald Andrew of Colby, Duane Pupp of Oregon, Wis., James Quall of Eau Claire, and Donald Melander of Spencer.
Eleanor Greschner was born Jan. 6, 1888, in Czechoslovakia. She married Paul Fitzel in 1906 and they came to the United States in 1913 and settled in Chicago. In 1917 they moved from Chicago to a farm near Manville and lived there until the death of her husband in 1920.
Her second marriage took place in 1926 to Ferdinand Wucherpfennig and they farmed in the town of Frankfort until their retirement in 1945. They then moved into Colby. He preceded her in death in April 1955. A daughter, three sons and twelve brothers also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Adam Fitzel of Colby, two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Mary) Schmidt, Marshfield, and Mrs. Ralph (Rose) Andrew of rural Colby, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
