Mrs. Stevens was born Goldie Ruby Rayfield on July 14, 1909, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She moved in 1931 to St. Johns. She was a licensed practical nurse at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Legacy Emanuel Hospital before retiring in the 1960s. About 1925, she married Bill Bowers; they divorced. In 1952, she married Glenn Stevens; he died in 1992.
Survivors include her daughters, Billie Illias and Katherine Townsend; son, Jim Bowers; 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Her son Jackie Bowers died in 1960; son Claude Bowers died in 2000; daughter Sylvia Thompson died in 1997.
Interment in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
